Sue led the walk through the “hidden valley” and up to
Montgo Cross
We had ideal weather for the walk, warm with a cool breeze
It took us about two hours to reach the ridge, but the views
made it well worth the effort
The whole area looks so colourful at this time of year, and
smells lovely as well
After
a short rest it was uphill again, heading for the cross
When we reached the top Tom and Sue bagged the best seat
But Jan and I managed a nice spot for lunch
With long views over the mountains and the coast
We
have done this walk about three times before, but this is the first time it was
warm enough to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch
Also time for a group photo
Then downhill from the cross
A last group shot
And the long walk back along the crest
It took 6 hours which was longer than most of our walks, and
everyone was glad to get back to the cars.
