2 Apr 2012 – Fig Tree Walk

The weather was unpredictable enough for a wide variety of clothing at the start of the walk, including jackets and shorts.
It was good to see David and Rosemary again.  They drove back from UK yesterday and David obviously brought his shorts with him

There was plenty of news to catch up on and we hardly noticed the steep road climb leading to our first stop at the abandoned finca

Pat seemed to be quite pleased to be caught showing off her “best side”

Everyone had warmed up by the time we had our first break, Jackie and Mike were not the only ones to remove their jackets

It’s a lovely time of year, and there were plenty of stops to admire the spring flowers.

Another short climb, this time on a rough track, and its then level or downhill most of the way back to the cars – except for one “sting in the tail”.

The swirling clouds were very impressive, but also very difficult to catch in a photograph

This part always reminds us of walking on the hills around Rothbury, or in Scotland, very barren and wild

Monday 9 April
Pat has arranged a new walk starting at Tarbena.   Meet at the main car park, on the right as you enter the village, at 1000.
